I am a young and vibrant freelance floral designer and Certified wedding/party coordinator understanding traditional as well as contemporary techniques. Having a passion for helping people turn their dreams into reality I decided that starting my own business enabled me to meet my customers needs above and beyond what anyone could imagine.

I entered into the design world 9 years ago although working with people has been a delight of mine for over 16 years. I started out by making homecoming mums and garters. After my first year of seeing the joy I brought to my customers faces I had to find out more. Taking classes and studying under some of the most experienced designers, I studied and researched all I could about floral design. I continually keep up with the most current styles and trends by attending new classes and seminars. With the encouragement of most of my customers and family starting my own company just sounded like a dream come true.

So in September of 2006 Designs By Erika Marie was established. I worked for three months straight cutting ribbon and hot gluing flowers to cardboard backings and loving every minute of it. After my first homecoming season independently on my own I got prepared for my first huge job with the Guyer High School Prom in May of 2007 at the Gaylord Texan. In June 2007 I supplied the ceremony flowers for the Miss Juneteenth Pageant at TWU in Denton, Tx. In August of 2007 my first complete wedding under my new business name was outside at the Lantana Lodge in Pilot Point, Tx.  In Sep 2007 at Saint Martins Place I coordinated a wedding andin October 2007 I supplied the Homecoming Flowers for the University of North Texas. Also in  November 2007 I decorated for an engagement party at the Las Colinas Country Club.  December 2007 I decorated the Las Colinas Medical Center Christmas Party "Peppermint Candy Cane" theme.  I specialize is custom handmade special occasion saches.  I have designed them for Guyer High School Homecoming Court, Denton High School Homecoming Court, Aubrey Homecoming Court, Lake Dallas Homecoming Court, Argyle Homecoming Court, University of North Texas Homecoming Court, and the Miss Black and Gold Pageant for Alpha Phi Fraternity at UNT.


I currently work with the Spirit of the West as their wedding coordinator offered in their wedding package. I also sponsor the Guyer High School Wildcats Drill Team "Silverados", the Guyer High School Wildcats Cheerleaders and the Arygle High School Eagle Cheerleaders. I am working on my certificate with the State of Texas Florist Association to complete all the courses that are necessary for me to be a "Master Florist"

I have helped raise money for Denton, Aubrey, Lake Dallas and Argyle High School Student Councils by selling Homecoming Mums and Garters as well as Sanger High School band. I have helped raise money for the Lake Dallas Highsteppers.  I am a member of  the American Academy of Wedding Professionals. AAWP CERTIFIED WEDDING PLANNER

IN THE PRESS : My designs have made the headlines numerous times in the Denton Record Chronicle. Denton High School Homecoming Court 2007, Guyer High School Homecoming Court 2007, Argyle High School Homecoming Court 2007, and Argyle Cheerleaders Homecoming Mums.
My designs have been in The Lake Cities Sun, Lake Dallas High School Homecoming Court 2007 and Lake Dallas High School Homecoming Court 2008.  My designs have been in the Pilot Point Sun, Aubrey High School Homecoming Court 2007 and Aubrey High School Homecoming Court 2008.
